“And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet. You have not eaten bread, nor have you drunk wine or similar drink, that you may know that I am the LORD your God” (Deuteronomy 29:5-6 New King James Version).

The Bible tells us different attributes or character traits of God. These are attributes that we should emulate so that we can be like Him. One of the character traits of God we find in the Bible is that He is a loving and caring Father.

The Bible says that God is love. Therefore, He loves and cares for human beings, especially His children. God is love by nature and action. The Apostle John says, “And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him” (1 John 4:16 New King James Version).

The dominant theme in the Bible is the love of God. Without mincing words, the most popular scripture on God’s love in the Bible is John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (New King James Version).

Nobody can be saved without the love of God. God’s love sent Jesus to the earth to die for sinners. Without God’s love, nobody can become a child of God. “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:4-6 New King James Version).

A child of God must be established in His love because the devil always wants people to either doubt the love of God or move outside of it to promote their works above what the love of God accomplished on the cross through the death of Christ. You do not have to feel loved by God, just believe that He loves you and accept His love. It has nothing to do with your feelings.

The devil has taken advantage of many people through this deceit. Their feelings control them. In the morning, they feel that God loves them, and in the evening, the feeling changes – they think God does not love them again. God’s love for you has nothing to do with your feelings. God says He loves and that is it. Before you were born again, He loved you and now that you are born again (if you are), He has not changed His mind.

You did not do anything before God decided to love you. All you need to do now after your salvation is to continue to remind yourself that God loves you, no matter what. Your progress as a child of God in your Christian journey will be affected a great deal by how much you are established in His love.

Do not let the devil talk you out of the love of God. It is not your circumstances that prove that God loves you; it is the Word of God. He loves you and you should love Him, too. “Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment” (Matthew 22:37-38 New King James Version).

Jude 21 says, “Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life” (New King James Version). Some scholars believe that “the love of God” in this scripture refers to our love for God while others believe it refers to God’s love for us. We must keep ourselves in or remain in both. God’s Word Translation puts the verse this way: “Remain in God’s love as you look for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to give you eternal life.” 1 John 4:19 says we love because He first loved us.

God is a loving Father. He loves human beings He has created. There is nothing we can do to make God not love us. That does not cancel the judgment of God, which sinners whom He also loves, would face if they die in their sins.

God loves every human being but there is a special love He has for those who accept His Son, Jesus Christ, into their lives as their Lord and Saviour and obey Him. “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him” (John 14:21 New King James Version).

Jesus continued in verses 23-24: “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me” (New King James Version).

God loves you. Ephesians 1:4 says long ago, even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. Shouldn’t you reciprocate His love by loving Him with all your heart, soul, and mind?

God is a caring Father. You should know He cares for you; therefore, you should not worry. If you know that you have a caring Father, you should not be afraid but have faith in Him. You should put your trust in Him.

The Bible says you should not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving present your requests to God (Philippians 4:6). Why? God cares for you.

Don’t worry. “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” (Matthew 6:31-34 New King James Version). Luke 12:29-31 says a similar thing

God is a caring Father. If He is concerned about the sparrow, why should you think that He will not take care of you? (Matthew 10:29-31). He took care of the Israelites in the wilderness, and they lacked nothing. God never failed them although they kept murmuring. Moses said, “And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet. You have not eaten bread, nor have you drunk wine or similar drink, that you may know that I am the LORD your God” (Deuteronomy 29:5-6 New King James Version). What a loving and caring Father! Unfortunately, the Israelites easily forgot God’s love and care for them.

Don’t relate to God as the Israelites did, always murmuring. Be grateful to Him. He loves you and cares for you more than you do. Have faith in Him; put your trust in Him; obey Him. Understand that you have a loving and caring Father, no matter what your situation is. He will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5; Deuteronomy 31:6, 8; Joshua 1:5).

If you are not born again, you need to give your life to Jesus now. I urge you to take the following steps: *Admit that you are a sinner and you cannot save yourself and repent of your sins. *Confess Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. *Renounce your past way of life – your relationship with the devil and his works. *Invite Jesus into your life. *As a mark of seriousness to mature in the faith, start attending a Bible-believing and Bible-teaching church. There they will teach you how to grow in the Kingdom of God.

Kindly say this prayer now: O Lord God, I come unto You today. I know I am a sinner and I cannot save myself. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died on the cross to save me and God raised Him on the third day. I repent of my sins and confess Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I surrender my life to Jesus now and invite Him into my heart. By this prayer, I know I am saved. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me and making me a child of God.

I believe you have said this prayer from your heart. Congratulations! You will need to join a Bible-believing and Bible-teaching church in your area where they will teach you how to live your new life in Christ Jesus. I pray that you flourish like the palm tree and grow like the cedar of Lebanon. May you grow into Christ in all things and become all God wants you to be. I will be glad to hear from you. The Lord be with you.

PRAYER POINTS: Father, thank You for loving me and caring for me. I appreciate Your love and care. Father, I shall have faith in You; I will trust in You and not in anything else. Holy Spirit, help me not to doubt God’s love and care for me because of any circumstance. Help me to love God with all my heart, soul, and mind. I pray that those who are yet to respond to the love of God for them will repent and come to Jesus today.
