Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him” (Isaiah 43:7 New King James Version).

The Bible says God created all things and made man in His image. The maker of a thing can best reveal the purpose for making it. Thus, God can best reveal the purpose for creating man and other things. As it is rightly said, when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable.

Romans 11:36 says, For everything comes from God alone. Everything lives by his power, and everything is for his glory. To him be glory evermore” (Living Bible). This scripture tells us why God created everything. Note the phrase “everything is for his glory.” The New Living Translation says everything “is intended for his glory.” God created everything for His glory. Everything He created is intended for His glory. Hebrews 2:10a says,God is the One who made all things, and all things are for his glory” (New Century Version).

God created man in His image (Genesis 1:27). He also crowned him with glory and honour (Psalm 8:5b). Why did God make man? For His glory. To show forth or display His glory. God made man to bring glory to Himself. However, when man fell, man could no longer display the glory of God. But Jesus came to redeem man so that man can live for God’s glory. If you are born again, your life should glorify God because God created you for His glory. Ephesians 2:10 says,For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (New King James Version).

Unfortunately, many think God created them to do their bidding. They behave as if God created them purposely to give them all they want and grant all manners of requests they make to Him. Although God meets the needs of humans on earth, this is not His purpose for creating man.

God causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous (Matthew 5:45). Truly, Jesus said, Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8 Holman Christian Standard Bible). Nevertheless, whatever blessings God gives human beings to enjoy on earth is to bring glory to Him. The blessings should point people’s attention to God – His goodness, kindness, mercy, greatness, supremacy, etc. – not to the beneficiaries.

God created man for His glory. Few people realize this. Therefore, instead of using their promotion, wealth, skills, abilities, etc. that God has given them for His glory, some use them for personal aggrandizement, vain glory, and sinful pleasure.

Do you know that God created you for His glory? Psalm 100:3 says, “Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture” (New International Version). God made you for Himself. You exist to bring glory to Him. God said to Israel (Jacob) in Isaiah 43:7 Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him” (New King James Version). Note the phrase “whom I have created for My glory.” The Good News Translation says, I created them to bring me glory.” The Contemporary English Version says, “I created each of them to bring honor to me.” That is not true of Israel alone. God created you for His glory too.

Revelation 4:11 says, You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created” (New King James Version). God is worthy to receive glory, honour, and power.  Are you giving these to Him? Is your life bringing glory to God? Is your life magnifying His name or that of the devil? Is your goal in life to bring glory to God or exalt yourself? Jesus said, And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted” (Matthew 23:12 New King James Version). The Bible says a similar thing in Luke 14:11 and Luke 18:14b.

Your main goal in life should be to bring glory to God. In whatever you think, say, or do, always strive to bring glory to God. Before you do anything, ask yourself: Will this bring glory to God? This will help your decision-making. Do the works of the flesh or desires of sinful nature in you glorify God? How do sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins glorify God? (Galatians 5:19-21). They don’t.

What about love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control – the fruit of the Spirit? (Galatians 5:22-23). Cooperate with the Holy Spirit for these attributes of God to be displayed in your life and God will be glorified. As Jesus said, let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16). To glorify God means to give Him the worship and reverence due to Him. It also means to honour Him.

God created you for His glory. God wants to be glorified in your decisions, actions, utterances, relationships, business, etc. Avoid whatever does not bring glory to God. Do everything to glorify God. Psalm 29:2 says,Honor the Lord for the glory of his name. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness” (New Living Translation).

Paul said,Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31 New King James Version). Also, Psalm 66:2 says,Sing to the glory of his name; offer him glorious praise!” (Good New Translation).

God created you for His glory; don’t live to glorify the devil. Romans 6:13-14 says,Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace” (New International Version).

As a Christian, remember that in addition to being created for God’s glory, Jesus has redeemed you, and you should glorify God. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (1 Peter 2:9 New International Version). 1 Corinthians 6:20 says, For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s” (New King James Version). Note the expression “glorify God in your body and your spirit.”

Because God created you for His glory, focus on doing His will, as Jesus did, not on your will (Luke 22:42; Matthew 7:21; 12:50). Jesus said,My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work” (John 4:34 New King James Version). Do the will of God. He created you for His glory. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all” (Ecclesiastes 12:13 New King James Version). God created you for His glory. Cooperate with His purpose.

If you are not born again, you need to give your life to Jesus now. I urge you to take the following steps: *Admit that you are a sinner, and you cannot save yourself, and repent of your sins. *Confess Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. *Renounce your past way of life – your relationship with the devil and his works. *Invite Jesus into your life. *As a mark of seriousness to mature in the faith, start attending a Bible-believing and Bible-teaching church. There they will teach you how to grow in the Kingdom of God.

Kindly say this prayer now: O Lord God, I come unto You today. I know I am a sinner, and I cannot save myself. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died on the cross to save me and God raised Him on the third day. I repent of my sins and confess Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I surrender my life to Jesus now and invite Him into my heart. By this prayer, I know I am saved. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me and making me a child of God.

I believe you have said this prayer from your heart. Congratulations! You must join a Bible-believing and Bible-teaching church in your area where they will teach you how to live your new life in Christ Jesus. I pray that you flourish like a palm tree and grow like a cedar of Lebanon. May you grow into Christ in all things and become all God wants you to be. I will be glad to hear from you. The Lord be with you.

PRAYER POINTS: Holy Spirit, help me live so God is glorified. I shall glorify God in my body and spirit, which belong to God, in Jesus’ name. I am God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus; I shall do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.
